Treating Acne Naturally

2Acne is a common skin condition that affects 80% of 11 to 13 year olds. It usually occurs during puberty, however some people do also suffer with acne in their adult life.

Many of the products that are available to treat acne on the marketplace today aren’t natural, and can cause some nasty side effects. An example is a drug called Roaccutane which is prescribed in severe cases of acne, it is thought that in some cases the drug can cause depression. Roaccutane was brought into the spotlight following the death of 24 year old Jesse Jones who committed suicide, it is thought that his death was at least in part due to the acne drug. Roaccutane was even the subject of a BBC documentary entitled ‘dying for clear skin’.

A more common acne treatment ingredient which is used in cases of mild to moderate acne is Benzoyl peroxide. In most cases Benzoyl peroxide is an effective treatment for acne. The most common side effect however is that it can cause skin to become dry, and can also cause irritation to those with sensitive skin. It is usually recommended that those who use benzoyl peroxide based products starting using one with a low concentration to see how it effects their skin, and to build up a tolerance.

There are other products available that use naturally occurring ingredients to fight acne. One of these products is Clear Skin Max. This product uses ingredients such as tea tree oil, which has been used for many years by the Australian aborigines to treat skin irritations.  Studies have shown that tea tree oil is as effective as benzoyl peroxide based products, and causes fewer side effects in comparison. The product also comes with green tea, another naturally occurring ingredient which has been consumed as a hot beverage for hundreds of years. Green tea has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for acne when applied topically to the skin as a cream.

Treating your skin using naturally occurring ingredients from mothernature which are just as effective at treating acne means you know exactly what you are using on your body, and will give you an enormous sense of reassurance and comfort too.
