HealthIndex UK is provided by Acumen Solutions Ltd, a consultancy that specialises in developing Internet applications for companies and organisations involved in healthcare.

The content and structure of HealthIndex UK will be developed throughout 1996. Information is provided in category breakdowns at present. These categories are being revised as the database is developed. An online search facility will also be added in the near future.

The aim of HealthIndex UK ...

.....is to make it easier and quicker for people to find healthcare sites and resources. Despite the development of well designed search engines such as Lycos and Infoseek, the Internet user is still faced with a task akin to hunting for a very small needle in a very large haystack. And, as the wealth of information on Web pages rapidly grows, the haystack is getting bigger and bigger. HealthIndex UK should make finding that needle just a little bit easier.
